Payton's Blog

After getting in late last night we decided to sleep in and eat a nine o’clock breakfast. The food in Honduras is delicious but we are for sure not used to the different spices and courses here.
After breakfast Jon, Garret, and Ernie decided to check out the nine-hole golf course. The golf course was surrounded by palm trees and each player got their own caddy. Ernie expressed to us how much these caddies touched his heart. There are about twenty of them but some days there weren’t any players. Ernie’s caddy was around eight years of age and Ernie’s connection with him is treasured. At that time the rest of us went on the beach. While we were swimming Sarah Haverly and Julia Capper met new friends. While soaking up the sun on the beach these little girls offered to “fix” their hair. They were around three years old and even though they just pulled and tied their hair in knots, it was joyful to the little girls. Then we went to the giant pool they have here and played volleyball and slid down the big slide. I believe there is picture of the pool on the internet if you would like to see it but the pool was very relaxing. The language barrier is sometimes a little frustrating and difficult but this smart group of kids is handling it very well and learning more about the Honduras people.
At night we met for fellowship. Being around this great group of fellow believers is such a blessing. God’s creation and power is shown through the scenic surroundings and beautiful sights. We are very blessed to be here and thank you for all your prayers
